Professional Electric Travel Guitars and Basses

 

Strobel Guitars manufactures Professional Electric Travel Guitars and Basses. Several models are available including the Rambler®Classic and Rambler® Custom guitars using dual humbucker pickups. Also available is a Custom Rambler® Travel Bass, modeled after a vintage Fender P-Bass. We recently introduced three new STROBELCASTER™ models using single coil pickups - the STROBELCASTER™ Standard, Plus and Custom models.

 

Luthier Russ Strobel, teaming with Resurrection Guitars, built the first custom Rambler® travel guitar in 2003 to creat a high end, "gigable" instrument that could be taken apart to fit in a breifcase or computer bag, The neck detaches via four custom thumbwheels so it can the body can be easily stowed for travel. The strings are removed from the top of the neck with the StringKeeper™, and wrapped around the body when disassembled.

 

After building over 30 Custom Rambler® travel guitars, Strobel Guitars started production of the Rambler® Classic model to make the best travel guitar more widely available. That was follwoed by the creation of the Custom Rambler® travel bass and most recently the STROBELCASTER™ series for those players that perfer the Strat type sound and feel.
